emerging as one of london’s premier contemporary artists, paperboy’s unique style blends the pragmatic structure of photorealism with the colorful vitality of abstract expressionism. incorporating a broad array of media, paperboy has separated himself from other artists by creating complex, textured portraits.
paperboy studied architecture at the university of brighton. upon graduating, he shifted career-paths to focus his creative energy on pursuing his passion of art, and in doing so, developed a personal brand. the distinct smiler logo, featured on all paperboy’s work, is a nuanced symbol that represents his growth as an artist. the face’s sad smile and single tear acknowledge his past and ongoing battle with depression. the $$ eyes remind him to not let fame or wealth cloud his vision as an artist, and finally, the three lines overhead symbolize the light and peace he’s discovered on his artistic journey.
